Three construction companies 鈥 DPR Construction, Mortenson and Turner 鈥 have won a contract to build a $10 billion data centre campus for Meta in Louisiana, USA.

Turner said that the four-million-square-foot campus in Richland Parish, around 100 miles west of Jackson, would be Meta鈥檚 largest data centre to date.

It expects 5,000 construction workers to be on site during peak construction.

Meta鈥檚 energy partner, Entergy, will bring at least 1,500 MW of renewable energy to the grid, which Turner said would be enough to cover 100% of the electricity use of the Richland Parish Data Center.

Meta also claimed that the campus will use less water than the site does today, in line with Meta鈥檚 global goal to be water positive in 2030, which means Meta will restore more water than it consumes.

Ben Kaplan, managing director, Turner Construction Company said, 鈥淢eta, in partnership with Turner, DPR, and Mortenson, will host information fairs at the beginning of the year for interested workers and trade contractors. Please follow each of our company Facebook pages for updates.鈥
