Digital twin trade organisation expands scope into digital engineering
10 September 2024
Digital Twin Consortium (DTC) 鈥 a US-based trade organisation supporting digital twin technology adoption across major industries 鈥 said it鈥檚 expanding its scope to include support, development and execution of advanced digital engineering methods.

DTC is a membership-based trade association based in Boston, Massachusetts, US, and is part of Object Management Group (a Massachusetts-based technology standards consortium).
The group said the expansion into digital engineering will 鈥渃over the key domains and disciplines throughout the digital engineering ecosystem, including Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE), digital thread, and related strategies.鈥
鈥淭his expansion represents a natural evolution of our mission,鈥 said Dan Isaacs, chief technology officer and general manager of DTC.
鈥淏y embracing a wider range of digital engineering practices, augmented where most beneficial by the infusion of [artificial intelligence], including Multi-Agent GEN AI, DTC is well positioned to enhance the digital engineering ecosystem further and address the complex challenges facing the industry today.鈥
Four key benefits of Digital Twin Consortium鈥檚 expansion
DTC said key benefits of the focused expansion include:
- Improved integration of digital twin technology through advancements in digital engineering practices
- Strengthened security and trustworthiness, including AI-integrated approaches in digital engineering processes
- Enhanced data strategies and frameworks for increased accessibility and traceability towards improved interoperability
- Increased collaboration opportunities across various digital engineering disciplines
