New JV to provide 15% of Germany鈥檚 solar power
22 August 2023
Secursun has started construction on the first of a proposed 50 utility solar photovoltaic (PV) parks slated for completion between the end of 2023 and 2026.

The initiative aims to advance sustainable energy solutions in Germany on a significant scale, with total capacity expected to reach 1.1GW when all parks are in commission.
Germany currently has a total photovoltaic capacity of 7.2 GWp and the Secursun鈥檚 anticipated 2026 portfolio would contribute 15% of this capacity.
The development and construction of the parks will be led by the Berlin-based project developer securenergy solutions and solar park construction specialist Sunotec.
Both companies hold an equal stake in the newly-formed joint venture, Secursun.
Nationwide groundbreaking
Secursun is expecting to start construction on at least seven solar parks this year, including photovoltaic plants in Utzedel near Demmin and Brusow near Kr枚pelin, both in the region of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
In addition, groundbreaking at the Dallgow-D枚beritz site in Brandenburg, just outside Berlin, is imminent.
Across the pipeline of over 1.1 GW, the average project scale is estimated to be around 20MW peak (MWp), with plans also encompassing individual solar parks capable of generating up to 150 MWp.
One such is the forthcoming PV plant in Frankenf枚rde, located approximately an hour southeast of Berlin, with a projected capacity of 42 MWp. Construction for this installation is set to commence before the end of the year.
Holger Stabernack, CEO of securenergy solutions, said, 鈥淪ince the inception of our joint venture scarcely less than a year ago, the efficient planning and execution owe much to the seamless collaboration between securenergy solutions and Sunotec.
鈥淣ow, multiple locations are witnessing concurrent construction activities.
鈥淲e are delighted to be instrumental in fulfilling Germany鈥檚 ambitious energy expansion goals through our diverse portfolio of over 50 projects. The urgency of the energy transition necessitates swift and substantial action, and we are proud to be at the forefront of this endeavour.鈥
