Skanska to build Sweden鈥檚 longest wooden bridge

Contractor Skanska is to build a 400m-long suspension bridge that will become Sweden鈥檚 longest wooden bridge once completed.
The Karlg氓rdsbron bridge over the Skellefte River in Skellefte氓, Sweden, will consist of wooden trusses, cross beams, and hangers made of steel.
The bridge deck will be made of a cross-tensioned wooden slab, divided into a total of 10 spans.
It will carry car, bus, pedestrian and bicycle traffic over the Skellefte River.
Skanska has signed a contract with Skellefte氓 Municipality worth about SEK 380 million (鈧�34.5 million) to build the structure.
Construction will start immediately and the project is due to be completed in November 2027.
