The development, filed under the name 鈥淕root LLC,鈥 is , though the company has not confirmed its involvement.

Plans submitted to the city and US Army Corps of Engineers show five data center buildings, offices, internal roads, and a substation powered by Entergy Arkansas.

Located on a 1,178-acre site, the project will be built in phases and includes water-based cooling systems.

West Memphis City Council approved several agreements with Groot LLC, including a tax incentive package that could reduce personal property taxes by up to $50 billion over the project鈥檚 life. Initial hiring is expected to include 300 construction jobs, with long-term operations bringing in permanent roles.

The companies are also working on Amazon鈥檚 data center in Jackson, Mississippi, US.

If completed as planned, the West Memphis facility would surpass US Steel鈥檚 Big River Steel plant in Osceola as the largest private project in Arkansas history.

Something鈥檚 got to give: Data centre construction surges amid supply chain constraints Data centre demand is surging in Europe and North America, but can construction keep up?
