Infrastructure group Balfour Beatty will reconstruct part of the Interstate 30 (I-30) in Dallas, Texas, after winning an US$880 million (拢670 million) contract.

The work for the Texas Department of Transportation involves rebuilding a 3.7-kilometre (2.3-mile) section of the route on the east side of Dallas County.

The project will increase the number of general-purpose lanes from six to 12 to reduce congestion across the city.

Balfour Beatty will also construct nine crossings which will link I-30 with the Southern Gateway, the I-35E Lowest Stemmons and The Horseshoe, all of which the firm has completed on behalf of the Texas Department of Transportation over the last five years.

This latest contract award follows Balfour Beatty鈥檚 appointment by the Texas Department of Transportation to rebuild part of the Interstate 35 through Austin in Texas. The contract, valued at $746 million (拢575 million) was awarded in November 2024.

Preconstruction will commence in 2026 and is estimated to last five years until completion.
