It pays to plan ahead when it comes to visiting Bauma. Did you know, for example, that your ticket includes free use of public transport - but only if you print or download the correct document.

For your convenience we have compiled below some ‘good to know information. You will find more in the Bauma App, which can be downloaded from the Google Play and Apple App stores.

Getting to Bauma
Public transport
Your Print@home ticket includes free use of local public transport to and from Messe München (MVV ticket for zones M-6) on the specified day of your visit.

The ticket (a printout or digitally as a PDF ticket on a cell phone) is only valid in conjunction with a passport or identity card. (The cellphone ticket to the exhibition alone cannot be used for public transport you need to use the PDF ticket created when you register.)

Download the free ‘MVGO Fahrinfo München app to your smartphone in advance. This will provide you with connection information.

Underground
The U2 underground line takes you directly to the Messestadt West and Messestadt Ost stops. From Monday to Sunday, U2 runs every 3 minutes during rush hour.

S-Bhan
Take the S2 line to Riem. From there, take bus no. 190 to Messestadt West, or walk for 15 minutes. Or take the S4 to Trudering and change there to the underground line U2 in the direction of Messestadt Ost.

Car and bus
Messe München is located directly on the A94. You can reach the exhibition centre via the Feldkirchen-West exit (exit no. 6) or the München-Riem exit (exit no. 5) .

A dynamic traffic guidance system regulates the flow of vehicles on the site . It will direct you to the nearest available parking spaces during the event.

By plane
Messe München is 42km south of Munich Airport. Shuttle buses, public transport and taxis take you directly to the exhibition centre.

Bauma shuttle buses travel every 15 minutes and drop off point is at the North entrance of the exhibition grounds. Travel time: around 45 minutes. Buses leave from Terminal 2(bus park) at the airport, and at the exhibition the stop is the Central Concourse (MAC). Single journey costs 11, return is 17.

A taxi from the airport to the showground will typically cost between 90 and 110.

Sensible shoes
You can wear whatever you like, of course, but our advice is to make it sensible: the dedicated visitor can easily hit 20,000 to 30,000 steps in a day, and it’s all on unforgiving hard surfaces.
