Vinci wins �700m French railway upgrade contract

SNCF Réseau, the France-owned rail network management company, awarded Vinci Construction � through its subsidiary ETF � an industrial regeneration contract worth �700 million (US$765 million).

The scope of work covers upgrades to more than 800km of track and ballast throughout France by the end of 2030.
Vinci said the project is meant to improve regularity and increase frequency of train movements.
“The works will be carried out using several mobile factory trains to regenerate tracks at an industrial pace using the fast-sequencing method,� said Vinci. “Some 150,000 hours of work will be devoted to professional integration and training programmes during the seven years of the programme.�
Value of the contract, Vinci noted, was based on economic conditions from July 2023.
