Video | Crane collapses on under-construction building during Thailand earthquake

This is the moment a crane fell from a swaying building under construction in Bangkok, Thailand, during a magnitude 7.7 earthquake.

Footage shows the construction equipment plunging from the structure as the tremor hit the capital city at around 2:20 pm on Friday 28 March.

Water was also seen spilling over near the top of the building.

Another block under construction the Chatuchak district of the capital collapsed completely, sending workers running for cover. At least one worker was reported to have been killed and another 67 were missing.

The US Geological Survey said the tremor struck at a depth of 10 kilometres (six miles), and was centred in neighbouring Myanmar, around 50 kilometres (30 miles) east of Monywa City.

Debris was seen falling from several other high-rise buildings. Officials closed roads and evacuated buildings as they assessed the damage and prepared for aftershocks.
