Korean conglomerate Samsung鈥檚 Engineering & Construction (E&C) arm has won a design award for upcycled bags made from construction waste.

Samsung C&T E&C Group won a fourth consecutive iF design award for the product, in its Raemian upcycled accessories collection.

The tote bags, as well as wallets and pouches are made from discarded vertical safety netting used on construction sites for its Raemian apartments division.

The upcycled products match the green and grey colour scheme of the original Raemian netting, which is used to prevent debris from falling onto surrounding areas.

The iF Design Award, established by Germany鈥檚 International Forum Design and established in 1953, attracted 10,000 entries from 66 countries, with winners selected across nine categories, including product, interior, architecture, and user experience.
