11 March 2024
US-based electric vehicle maker Rivian announced on March 7 it was pulling back on its plan to build a 1,800-acre complex in Stanton Springs, Georgia, US.

The news came from company founder and CEO RJ Scaringe during a new product reveal event.
The company noted in a release its new vehicles will be launched at its existing facility in Illinois.
鈥淭he timing for resuming construction is expected to be later to focus its teams on the capital-efficient launch of [the new model],鈥 stated Rivian.
Earlier this year, construction company Clayco, engineering firm Jacobs, and architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) were announced as part of the build. Originally, Rivian expected to break ground on the Georgia plant this year with production beginning in 2026.
