Poland鈥檚 office sector growth
14 April 2015
Construction output in Poland鈥檚 office development segment is forecast to reverse a two-year decline in results, and grow to PLN3.6 billion (鈧857 million) this year, according to research company PMR.
The firm said 2015鈥檚 figures were close to the sector鈥檚 record output of PLN3.8 billion (鈧905 million) in 2012. Further growth is expected in 2016, driven, said PMR, by continued expansion of the country鈥檚 business services market.
PMR said a total of 5.5 million m2 of office space would be created over the next five years. This would include 4 million m2 in Warsaw and other main regional cities.
According to the research company, the office construction market has grown significantly during the past 10 years. The company said this had coincided with a rapid increase of the outsourcing industry with Poland 鈥 with a need for a total of more than 600 outsourcing centres to be created.
Bartlomiej Sosna, PMR鈥檚 head construction analyst, said office construction growth had been driven by several key factors. This included development of the business services sector, with an increasing number of technology-based companies also emerging. Sosna said there had also been a decision to extend special economic zones until 2026, which had attracted development investment.
