He is set to join technology specialists from contractors, OEMs, digital solutions providers and academia, as well as one or two surprise inclusions from outside the construction arena.

Honeyman, Bobcat鈥檚 VP of global innovation, will offer insights into the inner workings of the company鈥檚 R&D strategies, describing future prospects for technologies including operator assistance systems and alternative power developments.

Addressing the many broad misconceptions around digitalisation, he will also describe how Doosan Bobcat is exploring partnerships with organisations that are also thinking differently about current and future construction technologies.

Recognised for innovation

Joel, who joined Bobcat in 1997, holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in mechanical engineering and a master鈥檚 degree in agricultural economics from North Dakota State University in Fargo.

Alongside the global innovation team he leads, Honeyman says he is now focused on 鈥渃onnecting the dots鈥� of emerging technologies to create new solutions to address customers鈥� toughest challenges and lead the industry forward.

Under his leadership, Bobcat Company was recognised as a winner and received multiple honours by Fast Company鈥檚 2023 World Changing Ideas Awards and named a CES 2022 Innovation Awards honoree in the Vehicle Intelligence & Transportation and Smart Cities categories.
