Egyptian contractor Orascom has won a deal to build the new “Campus 2026 expansion of the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
The project, reported to cost around US$90 million, involves building: new student living and learning spaces; a technology, research and innovation lab (TRI-Lab); and an extended education hub.
Construction will include five new buildings, an underground service tunnel, infrastructure, and landscaping works.
The University said the three new projects would enhance the student experience by incorporating new technology, fully accessible facilities, and sustainable structures that contribute to climate change goals.
The new campus is due to open in 2027.
