US-based Hill agrees to assist Ukraine reconstruction

One of the largest global construction consulting firms in the world, US-based Hill International, announced it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development (SARID) of Ukraine to help the country鈥檚 reconstruction process.

Under the terms of the MOU, which lasts one year, Hill will assist SARID on implementing projects for residential construction, roads and bridges, highways, energy, airports, transit, ports, water management and more.

鈥淚n addition, Hill may be called on to provide workforce training and qualification enhancement, procurement assistance, monitoring and compliance, and related support,鈥� the company added.

Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022, part of a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War, which has been ongoing since 2014. Since the 2022 escalation, it鈥檚 estimated that the Russian invasion has cost more than US$155 billion in damages to Ukraine infrastructure, including 10% of residential stock damaged or destroyed and more than $34-billion worth of damages in the transportation sector.
