Husqvarna launches its first battery powered cutter
10 June 2021
Husqvarna has launched its first battery powered cutter and said it will offer a performance equivalent to petrol powered cutters but with low emission benefits.
The company said the K1 PACE cutter - which is being launched at the World of Concrete show in Las Vegas this week - represents a 鈥渂ig step forward鈥 and will offer customers a cutter that can handle heavy duty jobs. It is the first product to use Husqvarna鈥檚 new battery system, PACE.

Sales of the product will start in the second half of this year, initially in the Nordic region, at which time more technical details will be released.
鈥淲hat we are presenting today is a breakthrough in the market for power cutters鈥, said Mattias Holmdahl, Global Product Manager Power Cutters at Husqvarna Construction.
鈥淲e are extremely proud to introduce a high power battery cutter that fully supports the transition to low-carbon economy the construction industry needs.
鈥淲e see an increasing number of construction companies striving for carbon-neutral workplaces and as a leading supplier we feel a responsibility to contribute, together with our partners and customers, towards greater sustainability.鈥

The PACE battery system will be used on multiple products as the battery-powered range grows. In addition to the power cutters and battery system, diamond blades in 12鈥 and 14鈥 (300 and 350 mm) have been designed for battery operation.
The machine is also equipped with the X-Halt brake that stops rotation of a blade in a fraction of a second.

Holmdahl added; 鈥淲ith K1 PACE, customers get a high-performance battery power cutter that provides zero direct emissions.
鈥淭hey can expect lower vibrations, smoother cutting and that the machine鈥檚 low weight and optimal center of gravity help reduce the strain on their body.鈥
