Strabag ensures continuity following death of CEO

Strabag has announced that, with the approval of its Supervisory Board, it has granted Dr. Hans Peter Haselsteiner general power of attorney with effect from today (January 27) following the death on January 17 of CEO, Klemens Haselsteiner.

Dr. Hans Peter Haselsteiner previously served as CEO and then was on the Management Board in an advisory capacity as Authorised Representative. Klemens Haselsteiner was his son.
The foundation Haselsteiner Familien-Privatstiftung currently holds 30.7% of the shares of Strabag SE.
Strabag says that its Supervisory Board has already begun deliberating on a successor for the position of CEO.
Until this position is filled, the remaining members of the Management Board will assume the responsibilities previously held by Klemens Haselsteiner.
Klemens Haselsteiner took office on 1 January 2020 and initiated one of the most sweeping transformation processes in the company鈥檚 history, laying the groundwork for more sustainability, innovation and resilience. He passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.
Kerstin Gelbmann, Chairwoman of the Strabag SE Supervisory Board said on 18 January 2025, 鈥淪ome news are so unbelievable that you can鈥檛 believe it and don鈥檛 want to believe it. We received such news yesterday with the sudden death of Klemens Haselsteiner.
